Made2Measure Launch New Arena Mirrors

A long-established mirror specialist has introduced a new line of precision engineered weather proof equestrian arena mirrors.

Lincolnshire-based business Made2Measure has developed the weather resistant mirrors in response to the growing interest in dressage.

Designed and manufactured at the business’ 66,000 square foot factory in Mablethorpe, the new Platinum Grand Prx range of arena mirrors are made from high specification foil backed EN approved low iron copper free, lead free 6mm thick mirror glass to prevent premature silvering deterioration. Offering the best resistance to natural atmospheric corrosion on the market. They are further protected for safety and from the elements in a robust external grade steel and aluminium frame with 20mm foam cushioning acting as a shock absorber making them suitable for indoor or outdoor placement.

According to Steve Jenkins, Managing Director of Made2Measure, one of the best training aids in an equestrian arena is a set of mirrors allowing the rider to see what the judges see.

“As horse owners, we know how important it is for riders to simultaneously record the correct positions of both the horse and themselves. To this end, we have designed a mirror in a tiltable rigid metal framework allowing them to be adjusted to individual horse and rider and preventing distortion to give the rider a clear picture of themselves.

“Thanks to the rigid aluminium framework, the mirrors remain sturdy in strong winds and, unlike wooden frames, they will not rot. We are so confident about the quality of our arena mirrors that we give a two year guarantee against warping and manufacturer defects on all arena mirrors that are installed by our experienced team.

“Manufacturing high quality, affordable British-made mirrors and providing excellent installation and sales support has always been our objective,” Steve concluded.

For maximum safety of horse and rider, the arena mirrors are made from 6mm thick safety backed mirror glass that approved to BS EN 12600 class B2B for frontal impact. The safety backing ensures that if the mirrors were to break, the pieces stay stuck together with the frame. The mirrors are further backed with a 20mm thick foam impact protector which acts as a shock absorber to reduce the likelihood of damage should the mirrors be struck by birds, branches or hail. An exterior grade plastic backing protects the mirror against all weathers. The arena mirrors are available exclusively at www.made2measure.co.uk and can be powder coated in a range of colours.
