Post And Saddle System

One of our most popular styles of glass balustrade systems, the post with saddle is an elegant contemporary design. Grade 316 stainless steel with grit brush satin finish our post and saddle system passes BS 6180 with a 0.74kN rating. Independent static calculations conclude this system is suitable in a high wind load area if you follow the appropriate fixing data (extreme wind loads need further consideration). The maximum height for this system is 1150mm and maximum glass span is 1200mm. The system can be manufactured to different heights for additional charge, and it can be used in designs with angles other than 90 degrees using our adjustable handrail connectors available both in vertical and diagonal versions. In such instances you will need to tap and drill two clamps for your posts on site - this allows more flexibility during the installation.  

This is suitable internally and externally and 0.74kN rating covers all domestic use applications and light industrial use where there is limited footfall traffic.

For all floor mounted applications, we will use 10mm toughened glass and they can be used with our clamps with the requirement of safety pins. For all side mounted options, we will use 13mm toughened laminated with holes for the security pins in the clamps. This is to comply with building legislation and ensure that if side mounted panels were to break there is no fall hazard on traffic below as the security pins will hold the panels in position until replaced.

For navigating stairs please consider the fascia (side mounted option) for this section although floor mounted is viable but incurs higher charges for shaped glass panels.
